Descriptif

Providing knowledge to understand the structure and the functioning of trees, their response and adaptation to the environmental factors and their survival in a community.
Resource use efficiency (light, water, carbon, nutrients).
Hydraulic architecture of trees.
Long distance transport and allocation.
Modelling tree carbon and water balance.

Objectifs pédagogiques

Physiological and structural attributes underlying tree growth and survival.
Basic principles in process-based modelling of the main physiological functions.
Relate tree physiology to the distributions of trees and the response of forest ecosystems to perturbations and climate change.
