Enseignement scientifique et technique - NAETPF_916 : 916_Advanced statistics

Descriptif

The objective of this unit is to introduce relevant statistical techniques in ecological modelling.
At the end of this unit, the student will have good knowledge of the theoretical aspects and practical implementation related to these techniques.
The course includes lectures on the theory of the linear model, the weighted regression, the logistic regression and other generalized linear models. Real-world case studies are provided to put into practice these statistical techniques. The focus will be given to the interpretation of the inferences as well as the limitations of the different approaches.
Students who plan to work in ecology and/or to carry on with a PhD are strongly encouraged to follow this course.
