Programme détaillé
The emphasis is on natural fibers derived from wood and their use in paper
and board products. However, regenerated fibers, carbon fibers and emerging
applications are covered to some extent. Laboratory exercises concentrate on
fiber characterization and identification. topics include: fiber isolation from
wood, fiber morphology, fiber/water interactions, fiber reactivity, paper
physics, regenerated fiber production and use, emerging fiber applications.
